Hiking Club Trail Description

To begin your hike, go to the McElroy Visitor Center. Follow the paved bike trail east a short distance and then turn right and head south down the hill. Continue until you come to a three-panel kiosk with a historical account of one of the first roads that connected to Superior, Wisconsin. Hike east through an oak forest and along the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway. Follow the River Trail past the River Access (boat launch) to the historic Nevers Dam site overlook. Then hike west and up the hill to the picnic area. Follow the Old Logging Trail(bike trail) south through oak woods back to the visitor center.
