Hiking Club Trail Description

Begin the trail at the Joseph N. Alexander Visitor Center. Follow the upper trail to the Highway 61 Catwalk and cross the bridge, crossing the river to the east side. As you cross the bridge, take in views of the Upper and Middle falls. Then hike the Gitchi Gummi Trail known for its high overlooks offering stunning vistas of Lake Superior and the Gooseberry River Valley. The end of the Gitchi Gummi Trail brings you to a point that juts out into Lake Superior, where you’re rewarded with beautiful views from the overlooks.
