Hiking Club Trail Description

With a beautiful view of the Mississippi River Valley, the River Overlook Trail is one of themost popular hikes at La Salle Lake State Recreation Area. A portion of La Salle Lake State Recreation Area has been designated as a scientific and natural area (SNA), recognizing the high-quality native communities and rare plant and animal species found there. The trail takes you through this pristine area, past a regenerating forest of pine and aspen. The trail is narrow with slopes that are easy to moderate to hike.
